I've been meaning to circle back with you to thank you for all your help with the new garage door. Chris and Roo were great and I appreciate you fitting me in a few days earlier. The old door was shot. Anyway, you made the whole process easier and I am very happy with the new door and overall experience. Thank you.
We could not be more pleased with our new door. Your level of service has been top notch throughout the process as were the service guys who did the job (they left the place spotless and as you know were able to get our existing motor working).
The addition of the new door is not only functional but adds tremendous curb appeal.
Thank you for all of your help throughout the process . We look forward to referring you and working with Overhead again in the future for our next home.
Thank you so much for the thorough service you preformed on our garage door on Friday! We really appreciate your attention to detail. Now our door is working better than ever before. Your professionalism and service was excellent!

Overhead Door Garage Opener From 1955 Still Works

If you've ever seen the movie "Back to the Future," you know why 1955 is significant. Writers
used that particular year as part of the setting to illustrate small-town American life at the
time. If we were able to hop in a time machine like Michael J. Fox and land in 1955 in smalltown
Connecticut, we'd discover the installation of an Overhead Door Corp. garage door
opener at a lakeside home. When we decided we'd had enough of the 50s and wanted to
come back to present day, believe it or not, that opener would still be working!
After recently purchasing a lakeside home built in 1955 in Columbia, Conn., homeowner
Michael Matthews promptly began the renovation work that comes with buying and restoring
an old home. That’s when he found a still working, 1955-era Overhead Door Model E Ultronic
Door Opener in his garage.
“I love old machinery so when I saw this old opener I was just fascinated,” Matthews said.
“The fact that it was still working was even better.”
Made of steel and weighing close to 50 pounds, the Model E Ultronic was an AC, chain-drive
opener that, at the time, was state-of-the-art for its operational capabilities. It featured both
a chain drive and a belt drive to ensure long-term durability.
While the opener still works just as well as the day it was installed, Matthews said it makes too much noise for its location, directly beneath the
“We’re renovating the entire house, but I thought it would be a shame to just throw it away,” Matthews said. “That’s when I called Overhead Door
to see if they would want it for a showroom.”
Overhead Door Co. of Hartford was glad to oblige and even made a trade with Matthews for the functioning antique opener. They installed
Overhead's new Destiny 1200 in Matthews' home for free.

I've been meaning to pass along my highest praise for our new garage doors at One Overbrook Road that were installed on Friday June 11th. Jack and Chris did a most professional job both with their friendly demeanor and in the installation itself. When they were finished and packed up to leave, Jack was showing me how the outside keypad worked, and I asked if it could be set-up for both doors. He cheerfully said "absolutely," and right away went into a slightly involved process to allow this to happen. The decorative door hardware they were to install had come with two different types of screws, neither of which Jack determined were ideal for the Fimbel doors. They came back first thing on Monday with the correct ones and installed them in perfect order.
I should also say that our negotiations with you over price and style was of the highest order and I would be happy to recommend Overhead Doors to any of your prospective customers. With the garage facing Newtown Avenue, the doors are highly visible, and we have had a few people stop to admire them and ask who our installers were. Thank you and please thank Jack and Chris for us for a job well done.
